Jessy Nelson was born in Templeton Ca. from a young age Jessy had the talent that would help him overcome adversity and fulfill his dream of becoming a professional Supercross and Motocross Racer.
When Jessy was 12 years old he had a string of bad luck and misfortune, which led to some time off the bike after some serious injuries. Jessy regrouped and came back stronger then ever and was picked up by the Honda amateur program to race the 150 cc. from there, Jessy progressed to the Honda 250f and eventually was picked up by the Troy Lee Designs Lucas Oil Honda team to be the first amateur rider on the highly talented team.
In 2012 Jessy went into the amateur ranks with impressive speed and dedication to bring home multiple victories in the spring nationals. In April Jessy got the call to move up to the Pro team and made his debut in May at The Hangtown Motocross classic. Jessy had some great races in 2012 and earned the 2012 motocross rookie of the year award. 2013 Jessy started out the Supercross series with a bang and won a heat race at the 4th round in Oakland before injuring his elbow and had to take the rest of 2013 off.
